Hello to all! Next practice for all of you guys will be on 2 April 2009, Thursday. Be at Siglap South CC by 2.30pm sharp. Also, since SYF draws near, it is of paramoun importance to maintain your voices. Therefore, with effect from today, all choir members in the SYF team are required to avoid: Deep-fried food or snacks that can harm your throat Citrus fruits (oranges, lemons, etc.) that cause phlegm Dairy products like milk, chocolate, ice cream, etc. Sweetened drinks before practice (unless it's chrysanthemum tea from Ms Lau =)) Any other food that can harm your voice in one way or another (use your common sense! =)) Please adhere to this for the next 2 weeks. 16 days left. It's the last leg, so let's work hard towards our goal. See you on Thursday.

Hello to all! Next practice is on 24 March 2009, Tuesday. Be outside the music room by 2.40pm sharp. Latecomers are not tolerated. Also, please be reminded that there will be an SYF rehearsal at VCH on 25 March, Wednesday. All SYF people are required to attend, so you MUST keep that day free. 22/3 EDIT: There will be practice before the rehearsal. More details will be given on Tuesday. Transport to VCH is provided. It will be from 6.30pm to 8.30pm but it may drag slightly longer, so please inform your parents. Hello people! Next "practice" is tomorrow, 21 March 2009, Saturday . There will be PT, so be outside the PE Dept by 7.30am . Since we haven't had PT for so long, please be reminded to bring your own equipment and to bring a set of change for PT. After PT, there will be no formal choir practice but we will need you guys to stay back to settle your vests and ties. And also, bring your vest and tie tomorrow if you performed for the Victorian Gala dinner at Ritz-Carlton 1 week ago. Finally, please rest your voices well during this short "break". Also, while our performance today was acceptable, it was MERELY acceptable and not impressive , so DO NOT GET COMPLACENT and let us continue to work hard towards our goal. Enjoy the rest of your hplidays (doing holiday homework :) ) and see you tomorrow!

hello guys! as the title suggests, this post is on the midi file. anyway, the purpose of uploading the midi files is for you peeps to DRILL and get familiar with our 3 SYF songs - White Horses, Mundi Renovatio and Kucinta. unfortunately, the midi files are still not up on the blog, but they will be soon. so keep checking this page ok! Expect to see mundi and kucinta up here within the next couple of days. =)) oh, and secondly, the flu bug has been buzzing round us for quite some time. some of you have already caught it, so this is a reminder to all you peeps. DO NOT FALL SICK! your voices are very VERY important! please take more vitamin C (beware of phlegm!), herbal tea/drinks e.g. Pei Pa Kao, cooling drinks and most importantly, drink more water! try to avoid deep fried food and whatever not that has the potential of causing sore throat. have enough sleep too. keep your voices in tip-top condition! SYF's not far away! Ganbatte!

Next practice for Sec 1s, 2s and 4s will be on Thursday, 10 March 2009. Be outside the music room by 2.15pm sharp. We should be going for SSCC afterwards. This is to clarify my point on valid reasons a little. If you happen to miss choir for academic reasons, like extra lessons that cannot be shifted, Third Lang, ESP, etc., it should be a valid reason. Tuition is NOT considered a reason as you are expected to reshift your tuition lessons during this period of time. Also, if the whole cohort/class is missing for a reason (like Sec 3 camp), then it is also considered a reason. Please do not flood the tagboard asking me about valid reasons. It is approximately 37 days to SYF. Let's work hard. See you on Thursday.

Hello! Next practice for all members will be on 10 March 2009, Tuesday. Be outside the room at 2.40pm sharp. I will be starting the "lifeline" thing that Mr Kwei was talking about, so all choir members in the SYF team are allowed to miss choir 2 times only with a reason, and 0 times without a valid reason. Please refer to the post below to find out which are valid reasons. Also, sorry for the mistake but funerals are part of valid reasons unless I find that you are using the excuse excessively (meaning you are lying). To those going to perform today, please also meet at 6.15pm sharp at the school foyer. Bring/wear your penguin suit there and be prepared to stay late. Also remember your consent forms. Hi people, Next practice for all is on Saturday, 7 March 09. Be at the music room by 8.30am and please be informed that we will be heading to SSCC afterwards. PLEASE WATCH YOUR BEHAVIOUR, as we will be going to a public place. Don't spoil VS's reputation!!! Furthermore, as mentioned, we are very serious about attendence, especially for the SYF team. SYF members may (or rather will) be kicked out of the team if they miss one prac without a valid reason, approved on a case by case basis, or if they miss more than two pracs in total. If you will be missing practice for whatever reason, please notify your SLs beforehand, and submit a letter on your next practice. Lastly, all those people who are going for the rehearsal tomorrow (you know who you are), please report to the foyer at 8.15am sharp. (: Enjoy your friday :)

This is to remind every single one for you that ATTENDANCE FOR ALL PRACTICES IS COMPULSORY REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU ARE IN OR OUT OF SYF TEAM. If you need to be absent for any reason, you must submit a TYPE-WRITTEN (new rule) letter with your date of absence, name, class, valid reason and parent's or teacher's signature for non-medical reasons to me or any other comm member OR an MC for medical reasons Examples of valid reasons: Medical leave Important school event Urgent family matters Examples of non-valid reasons: Project Wedding dinner. Tuition (you are responsible for changing your own tuition dates) Any other event of less priority than CCA Forget about practice/not informed Meetings If your letter is not clear enough, you will not get your attendance.
