Hello people, Next practice for Taiwan competition singers is on Thursday at 2:15pm. Meet outside the music room. Mr Kwei and Mr Foong will be coming. Also, the food ban has been revised and standardised. From now on, these rules will apply: Banned Foods - These foods are completely banned; You are not allowed to eat them at all during the duration of the food ban. These items include: - deep fried foods - foods containing capsaicin(chilli, pepper .etc) - acidic foods - foods containing chocolates and nuts Foods to be Avoided - These foods may not be eaten before choir practice on such days. They include: - dairy products - cold foods - sugary foods - foods containing coconut milk Members caught breaking the ban will be dealt with accordingly. Gentle reminder that only MCs are accepted now. 9 more days to taiwan people!
~Hello Choir~ Tomorrow's combined practice is cancelled, so unless your SLs notify you, you are not required to come(meet outside music room at 2.50pm). Anybody who misses any other practice would be severely dealt with starting from tomorrow, you have already been warned. Only MCs will now be accepted. I have noticed that some people do not know what food does the food ban allow, so some of the items/stalls that you can from eat are: The Mixed Food Stall (No Fried Stuff) The Noodle Stall (No Fried Wontan,Laksa and Fried Fish OK?) The Chicken Rice Stal l(No Skin and excessive amts of oil) The Vegetarian Food Stall (NO HASHBROWN!!!) No you cannot consume ice-cream, and spicy stuff, deep fried food and any drink that contains either caffeine or citrus. Avoid dairy products as well. Please TRY to avoid oily food as much as possible. Remember for those who still have not passed in your vest and ties, tomorrow is the last day. Thank You 10 more days to taiwan people

Information update

For Sopranos and Altos involved in the YOG audio recording on Tuesday, 29 June '10. Come to school as usual. Be present with your respective classes for morning assembly. Proceed straight to the music room with your bags after morning assembly. We will be having warmups in the music room. Bus leaves VS at 9am. Recording as held at Redhill. Depending on how long we take, we will possibly be in school for the last 3 periods. Please bring your books /materials for these 3 periods!
~Hello Choir~ Next practice for the YOG Sops and Altos are this coming Monday at 2.50pm, don't be late. Next practice for the Taiwan people is on Tuesday @2.50pm, please meet outside the music room. Remember that attendance is very important and inform those that have missed any previous prac to come. The deadline for passing your vest and ties in are this tuesday , remember to bring them if you still haven't pass them in yet. YOG people may hand in your vest and ties on monday. ANOTHER REMINDER: bring thermometer and your school ties on the first day of school. Thank You. 13 more days to taiwannnn!

Hello Choir, Next practice for the taiwan people is this Thursday at 8.30am. For the YOG Sops and Altos+a few others, come at 11am. Please be reminded that Mr Kwei is coming for this practice. The food ban also starts on this Wednesday, this includes oily and spicy food. You are reminded to take note of your attendance and only MCs and VERY IMPORTANT FAMILY MATTERS are accepted as excuses. bad BASIC discipline such as looking at the door when someone is conducting/speaking etc are NOT tolerated. Hey Choir :) Hope that ISG had been a memorable experience for both members and seniors alike! Edit: Next practice for Taiwan people  with Mr Foong will be this Tuesday, 22 June '10 . Practice will begin at 8.30am . Practice for YOG Sops and Altos is in the afternoon. Please come at 1.30pm. For those who have not brought your vest and ties, please bring it on Tuesday. Please bring along the $8 for Vocal Consort's Concert if you have not paid. And another chapter unfolds... Thanks.

VS CHOIR COMMITTEE 10/11

Dearest Choir, Time flies. Really. I can still vividly remember last year this day, I'm sure the rest of the committee does too. Just a year a go, we received our committee badge. We began our journey, started serving the choir as committee members. It wasn't an easy start. It wasn't easy to get things in place, to get things organized. But as time goes on, we get up. We learn. We adapt. And we work better as a team. From the not-so-impressive performances in Speech Day, MOE Headquarters for Teacher's Day and ASEAN Youth Convention, we strived to improve ourselves as a choir. We worked as a team, eventually tasting the sweetness of success on 25 April 2010, Rhapsody IX . (:These memories are too fond--they still seem so new. But before we know it, it's time for the Sec 4s to leave. Whether we want it or not, whether we like it or not, It's time to say goodbye . But a goodbye doesn't have to be forever. Hi guys. The Vocal Consort will be having their concert this coming Saturday . It will be compulsory for choir members to attend. Those who are unable to make it (unless currently overseas) are to inform their SLs/helpers. The details are as follows: Date: 19 June 2010 Venue: Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (NUS) Tickets: $8 Time: 7pm outside the hall [Edit: You can take a train to Clementi MRT and take 96 from there.] See you there! :)
Hey Choir This is an update of the practices for this week Wednesday  - Sops and Altos (YOG) Please meet at the school foyer at 1pm . Have a full lunch, bring along a packet bun perhaps? and your jacket! Thursday - Taiwan Practice. Practice starts at 8.30am . Mr Foong will be coming as usual. Saturday - Inter Sectional Games Be in your PE attire and assemble outside the PE Dept by 7.30am . [Edit: Please bring your vest and ties, photocopy of passport. Bring the $8 during the concert itself] Thanks :)
Hi VS Choir :) Tomorrow's audio recording (YOG) for Sops and Altos has been postponed to next Wednesday . Meet at the school foyer at 1pm for warmups. Next practice for Taiwan people is Saturday, 12 June '10 . Be outside the Music Room at 8.45am . Mr Foong will be having practice with us. Please remember to revise through your scores: O Occhi Manza Mia, Ave Maria, Pasigin, Orde-e. Altos involved in the YOG audio recording have sectionals at 2pm in the afternoon. Thanks.
Hey choir,  Sorry for the late post (just got home =S) There will be practice tomorrow, 10 June '10 , for those going for the Taiwan trip . Sec1s are to come at 8am, Sec2s and 3s at 9am.  Sopranos and Altos involved in the YOG performance will need to stay for afternoon practice from around 2 to 4 pm.  I understand that for those involved in both activities, you will be attending 5 consecutive days of practice this week. I do hope that you understand that we are on a very tight schedule to prepare for Taiwan, as well as perfect our audio recording. Thank you very much for your cooperation, choir :) Thanks. 
Hi Choir, Next practice for YOG people is Tuesday, 8 June '10 . Practice will begin at 12 noon and Mr Kwei will be coming. On Wednesday, 9 June '10 , YOG people are to assemble at the school foyer at 12 noon for warmups. The bus will leave for NUS at 1pm. We will end at NUS around 6.15pm , after which transport back to VS will be provided. Thanks :)
Hey VS Choir. I regret to inform you that ISG this Saturday, 5 June '10, has been cancelled . This is due to the fact that we are less than a week away from our YOG recording! Practice for YOG people will commence at 8.30am instead. ISG will be postponed to 19th June. Thanks.
