Hello choir.

A good job done by both the Speech Day performers and the AVOS competitors. For those that still are not in the know (in which you should have already heard by word of mouth or something), we have obtained a Gold C award in Category F: Folklore, with a score of 81.52.

Do remember that there is still a long journey ahead of us and it is not a time for us too be complacent about it.

Urgent announcements as follows:

In preparation for the upcoming SYF Choral Presentation, there will be a rehearsal on Wednesday, 18th July at Victoria Concert Hall. Please leave your classes at about 10am and be in the music room at 10.10am sharp. There will be time allocated for lunch and a chartered bus will take us there in the afternoon. It should end at about 6pm.

For those who have ordered tickets for your relatives or friends to watch the Choral Presentation, you will have to bring the $5 for each ticket you have ordered asap.

There is also a phototaking session on Friday, 20th July. You are to bring your penguin suits on that day itself. More details will be out soon.

J'entends le Moulin/Itsumo Nando Demo translations

Announcement: There will be choir practice for everyone on Saturday at 8am . Now the translations... J'entends le Moulin translation J'entends le moulin, tique tique taque I can hear the mill, tick tick jolt. Mon père a fait batir maison My father built a house Sont trois charpentiers qui la font Three carpenters helped him Le plus jeune, c'est mon mignon The youngest is my true love Qu'apportes-tu dans ton jupon? What are you carrying? C'est un pâté de trois pigeons It's a pie of three pigeons Asseyons-nous et le mangeons Let's sit down and eat it En s'asseyant il fit un bond While sitting down it made a jump Qui fit trembler mer et poisson A jump that trembled the sea and fishes Et les cailloux qui sont au fond And the rocks which are at the bottom That's it. It isn't suppose to make sense. Just that the final syllabus in each line rhymes with "-tends" in "j'entends" Itsumo Nando Demo (Spirited Away) translation Yondeir
